Please read the attached letter from our School Resource Officer regarding Parent Pick Ups and traffic on Busenbark Road.

EIS Families,

There have been several complaints made about the traffic build up on Busenbark Rd. in the afternoons. This back up is creating a serious safety hazard for all traffic including new and inexperienced drivers from the High School and for buses. As a result, Sheriff’s Deputies will be making extra patrols along the road to move people along. This includes cars parked in the grass on the roadside. They will warn people first and if this does not fix the problem, they may begin to issue citations.

To help remedy this, the parking lot at the Middle School is available after 2:20 P.M. for anyone that arrives early. You are welcome to park there and then at 2:45, you can make your way to the parent pick up line. We keep the back area closed for the safety and security of the students.

As a matter of perspective, even if you are the 30th car in line, we will have you out of the pickup line in less than 10 minutes. This year has been one of the most organized and smoothest pickups in all the years I have been around. I attribute this to everyone involved. The staff is able to get the students out and in cars much more efficiently due to the great cooperation from you parents. All the new parents have caught on quickly to move up and fill in the spaces to get the kids out and in the cars and on the way, and the experienced parents have helped to show the way. I hope that you will continue to cooperate with us on this issue to keep everyone safe. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me.

Thank you in advance,

Officer Jim
