Attendance Tip of the Week

Consistency builds confidence. When children attend daily, they know what’s happening in class and don’t feel left behind. This confidence motivates them to participate more, ask questions, and take on challenges with a positive attitude.

Students did not earn the 1st quarter incentive, The Boo Bash, if they had more than 18 hours of unexcused hours in the 1st quarter.

A new quarter starts Monday October 13. Students are allowed 18 unexcused hours before not earning the Christmas incentive. Remember excused hours will never count against students for the incentive.

Students are considered excessively absent in a school year when they miss 38 hours in a month or 65 hours in a school year. This includes both excused and unexcused hours.

Students are considered habitually truant if they miss 42 hours in a month or 72 hours in a school year. This includes only unexcused hours.

Reading Tip of the Week

Ask your child to give a quick summary of what they just read. 'Tell me what happened in this chapter in your own words.' Summarizing strengthens comprehension.

Math Tip of the Week

Play “What’s the Question?” Give your child an answer (like 36) and ask them to come up with as many different math problems as possible that equal that number.

PBIS Expectations

Did you know that PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports? As a school, we have school wide PBIS expectations throughout the building. You may hear your student talking about these things.
